My Husband is highly allergic to bees, so i have had this problem. We had pest control come out and gave us very helpful hints and procedures to keep reoccurring nests from forming. First take down any nests that are currently formed. And once they are down Rub a moth ball on the spots of the house, tree, garage, ect.. that they were on. The chemicals in a moth ball help the bees to become confused and disorganized. Also if you are scared to actually take down the nest, there are sprays and chemicals that can be applied to the nest to kill all bees in side and any larve that haven't matured. Hope this helps!!
Ammonia will not keep bees away or kill them. If you have a problem with bees on your property, contact a pest control company.
One way to keep bees away from picnic food is by putting out bee traps around the area. Keep food covered and put away food right away.

Keep calm and don't flap your hands. They will lose interest and fly away. If there are a lot of bees around, it is better if you don't wear flower-scented perfume.
yes, it is an old remedy from 1844 invented by Arnold King
Find their nest and destroy it or eliminate access to it. I used to have bees in my backyard and I found they were nesting behind the dryer vent. I tried to seal it with caulk or and tape, but they ate right through that. Finally someone told me tar will work, so I tried it and it did work. Unfortunately the bees were stuck in the nest and had no other place to go but inside the house. After a few days they all died and all was good. After that I would occasionally see a bee or two in the backyard, but that is expected, it was nothing like before.
One way to get rid of bees or keep them away is by using moth balls. You can put them inside an old nylon and hang it close to a nest and in areas that you want to keep bees away from including porches and play sets.
Sweat bees are attracted to the salt in human scent. Anything that covers the smell of perspiration will help keep sweat bees away.
Their nest might have been destroyed or something to do with chemicals.
To repel bees, you should avoid trying to swat them. Try to stay calm and still because swatting them will make them more aggressive.
Beeswax is quite flammable. Don't forget it is used to make candles.
Bees are terrified of fire, beekeepers puff smoke in to the hive to make the bees go to the bottom when removing the honey. I wouldn't recommend taking up smoking just to keep a bumble bee away though
