did u bump start it? it may not be your card it could be your starter motor or even immobiliser, try a jump start first your starter maybe burnt out
Put the card in, press the brake or clutch and press start
Your looking around the £150 mark.
can you start the engine of a 2005 renault megane with out key card
iam afrade you will have to have a walk to your local Renault garage as i belive there a Renault part only and are around £150
i have exactly the same problem. did you get yours sorted?
hi if it is a card key pull out the key from the card then on the driver or passenger door were the pull open handle is you will see a little sign of a key which will have a gap to take off once you have done that put the key in and open.
my be the card-reader inside the car
The best way is to buy one from a main stealers - when ours went we found it cheaper & easier to pay the £150 for a brand new one, they also cut the emergency key in the price. You can get cheaper cards from eBay etc but the problems start with finding an auto locksmith with the right equipment to program it for your car. Shop around the main dealers though as we found the price varied by almost £30 depending on who wanted the sale most.
Not sure if this works the same way as the Megane, but here goes. Put your key card in the ignition slot and press start. Do not press the clutch or brake. Press and hold in the button at the end of the light stalk for about 5 seconds, or untill it bleeps twice. This should re activate the auto lights. Well at least it worked for me
Your battery may be flat and could need recharging or replaced.
put the key card in put it in first keep your clutch down pick up some speed and let clutch out quick giving it some revs
In order to remove the key card reader from Renault Megane the cover surrounding it on the dashboard must be removed first to gain access to the reader. Removing the reader all together would cause the car to stop functioning.
