You are probably trying to install the wrong driver.
For installing graphic card software follow this: my computer properties->hardware->device manager->insert driver CD then install driver of graphic card then click on update driver which install it automatically.
Try cleaning the buttons, or re-install the driver. If the problem continues, you can get a technician to replace the keyboard, or you can buy a USB keyboard.
You need the specific driver for whatever graphics card you have installed. i suggest you go directly to the manufacturer's website to get it. I also suggest you avoid any advertisements that try to get you do download an automatic driver detector because i have noticed in the past that these install viruses (not all of them, but some). Also if you don't know what your doing exactly you should call your local IT nerd to help out. offer them money, or jolt colas, whatever it takes.

only the standard keyboard drive is loaded in safe mode which works with almost any keyboard. The driver for the keyboard is either the wrong one or is damaged in someway. Go to your device manager find the keyboard and uninstall the driver. Then reinstall with the correct one (or let windows use the generic (default) driver. Answer: Actually both those wont work, believe it or not the problem with laptops doing this is the battery. Try it! Remove the battery and plug the charger in and start windows and all will be working again. Have your battery replaced.

This usually means the keyboard driver is messed up. Usually a simple reboot will do the trick but sometimes you need to reinstall the driver. I would also change the batteries if it's a wireless keyboard.
It's probably very much like replacing keyboard. There are tutorial videos that explain the process very well. You'll need a Phillips screw driver for most laptops. I do you know you first have to make sure the laptop as no power by removing the battery and power adapter.
