A solution to this problem differs. If you have a USB keyboard, try reinstalling the software that came with it from the CD. If no software came with it, try to find a driver for your USB keyboard model online.
If your keyboard is an old one, with the round cable that resembles and s-video cable, try taking it out of the computer and blowing out both the port and cable. Reinsert it, making sure you are putting it in the right port in the right direction.
