My 2007 sedona had the key stuck in the ignition. I was unable to turn it all the way back in order to remove it. I had it parked in my driveway and I was not comfortable leaving it sit overnight with the key in it. I disconnected the negative post of my car battery to feel safer with my problem. I found out that the key comes out easily after doing this. Unfortunatly if you reconnect the battery and insert the key it will lock up again. I took it to the dealer and explained my situation. Within 30 minutes the problem was resolved. According to them within the transmission shifter lever compartment there are a couple of screws and a pin that had come loose and the ignition was not recognizing the vehicle was in the park position, therefore the key cannot be removed. I'm not to sure how much truth there was to their explanation, but the key works in and out without any problems now. If you disconnect your negative battery terminal and the key remains stuck, then most likely, it is the ignitions internal components that are the cause.
