Kylie initially started her career with a role in the Australian soap Opera 'The Henderson Kids' but it wasn't until she joined the Neighbours cast as mechanic Charlene that she became a household name.

In 1987 she performed the Little Eva classic 'The Loco Motion' at a roadshow and caught the attention of someone involved in the music business and was offered the chance to record her own version of the song.

After its success in her homeland, she visited the PWL offices in London and met with Pete Waterman and together with Mike Stock and Matt Aiken he wrote 'I Should Be So Lucky' in about 30 minutes, Kylie recorded it and the rest, as they say, is history.
