There is no limit regarding length that I am aware of. However, the government does place restrictions on the type of knife. Knives cannot be "assisted openers", like a switchblade and they can't open from centrifugal force or gravity like a Balisong (Butterfly Knife). Canadian law is kind of murky when it comes to knives, it is also mentioned that knives cannot be concealed on a person (although I seriously doubt the RCMP are going to arrest you for having a Swiss Army Knife in your pocket when your camping).

When i took my FAC course we were briefly schooled on knife safety and knife laws. In Alberta, at least, i believe you are allowed to carry a flip knife 4 inches or less. Anything over that requires a belted sheath. Like OP said, you cannot have switch blades, stilettos or balisongs. a fixed blade knife HAS to be sheathed and HAS to be exposed. I myself live in a relatively small town (3,000 people or so) and i usually carry a smaller version of a K-BAR (Belted and exposed of course) and i have received no flak for it. although with knife laws in Canada, you just have to use common sense
-dont bring them into stores
-if you have to carry it at night, try not to look shady as balls
What is the legal length of a knife can you carry in the state of Oklahoma? What is the legal length of a knife can you carry in the state of Oklahoma?
There is no length limit for a pocket knife in Hawaii.
A standard pocket knife or folding knife no longer than 4.5 inches in the closed position is legal to carry. I believe daggers, bowie, spring loaded or butterfly knives are not legal to carry.

There is no length stated in the statutes. Only that it not be carried or used in a manner meant to be considered a weapon.
