* A fairy person of Ireland * Of diminutive size, about one hand high * The name means 'one shoe maker' which is most often the activity they are discovered in. Always making one shoe never a pair. Their absorption in the activity makes them unwary and pron to discovery. * Often dressed in a green suit, short red beard and matching hair. Decorated with shamrocks, derbies and large buckled shoes. Often possessing a clay pipe of long stem. * A wry expression, very clever and sneaky. * If captured will offer you his pot of Gold as a ransom, or three wishes, but beware! The pot of Gold maybe entirely fictitious and if he tricks you into asking four wishes you lose them all.
