Leukocytosis itself does not cause infection per se, but the low level of white blood cells can allow for opportunistic infections to grow when they normally wouldn't be able to.
Yes.
too much of white blood cells doesn't always mean a good thing. A high white blood cell count (also called leukocytosis) isn't a specific disease but could indicate an underlying problem. This is why high white blood cell count always requires further medical evaluation.
There are too many conditions that inflammation could indicate to list them all. You could have a broken bone, an infection, an allergic reaction, or some other more serious disease.
The Gram stain is performed on a sediment of the CSF and is positive in at least 60% of cases of bacterial meningitis.
Because a disease involve frequently chemical reactions in the organism.
The presence of IgM antibodies indicate acute infection, mostly from Parvovirus and Rubella in babies.
A high blood cell count that might indicate a bacterial infection is referring to white blood cells specifically. If a bacterial infection is present in the body, the immune system releases into the blood stream additional white blood cells to respond to the threat. A high count of these additional immune cells will then indicate that there is a bacterial presence to which the body is responding.
Multiple reasons as to Chronic Inflammatory disease Viral infection Bacterial Infection
Bacterial or viral infection. In either case they either invade the lymph nodes causing them to swell or they swell because there is an infection present in the body, in which case they swell more the closer they are to the site of the infection.
Bacteria (staphylococcus aureus) is a sign of bacterial pericarditis. Excessive protein indicates systemic lupus erythematosus or heart attack. An elevated white blood cell count may indicate fungal infection.
Green mucus can indicate a viral or bacterial infection, especially if it's accompanied by symptoms like fever or sinus pressure. It may also result from environmental factors like smoking or pollution. If symptoms persist or worsen, it's best to consult a healthcare provider for proper evaluation and treatment.

high lymphocytes either indicate that you have some type of viral infection, bacterial infection or cancer. they do range from a certain percentage. if yours are just a couple points out of range i would think it would be a viral infection. usually when your white blood cell count is sky high is when to worry for the worse. but i would check with your doctor and see what they want you to do.

A gram stained field of red rods and purple cocci through a microscope may indicate a severe bacterial infection. The next step would be to do a culture of the bacteria to find the correct antibiotic needed to treat the infection.
