This happened to both front driver & passenger side door locks on my GS300. Its the Actuator. The part is about $200(?) from Lexus and I believe that was the only place I could get it from. Now my backseat passenger side is going out :(

Burnt out lamp if maybe only the rear or front works and the other still works. If the whole side is out back and front, then it may be the switch. Could be the flasher unit too but doubtful if one side is working.

Sounds like your referring to locks being keyed alike meaning the 1 key works in more then 1 lock? Hope this helps
One or more fuses have blown.
You have a broken wire in the harness that runs to the drivers door. Look near the hinges for the door, the problem will be in that harness.
