Out of the seven Central American countries, El Salvador is the smallest in area, but the most densely populated. The country is 21,040 km2 (8,124 square miles) in area, which makes is about the size of the state of Massachusetts or the country of Wales.
Middle America includes Mexico, all Central American countries such as Honduras or Panama, the Caribbean Islands including Cuba or Jamaica and South American countries Venezuela and Colombia.The largest of all these countries is Mexico, with 1,972,550 square kilometers (761,606 sq mi) of area, comprising 73% of the region's total land area.
Puerto Rico and Costa Rica
Nicaragua is the largest country in central America with an area of 130,373 square kms.
The tropical zone, also known as the tropics or the torrid zone is an area where the sun is at a point where it is directly overhead at some point during the year. Being near the area, these areas encompass the hottest places in the world. Countries in this area include northern South American countries which include Brazil and Peru, Central African countries like the DR Congo and the Central African Republic as well as countries in southeast Asia such as India, Thailand and Indonesia.

The central coast is an area of California. The central coast is the location of the Central Coast American Viticultural Area. It roughly spans the area between the Monterey Bay and Point Conception.
