Jetta 2003 is a no n interference engine?
NO. Gates belts has a list. This engine is not interference.
The 1993 Mitsubishi Eclipse with the 1.8 liter engine is not on the list of cars with interference engines. The 1989-1998 2.0 Galant Eclipse cars were built with interference engines.
I researched this as I own a Mazda Protege with a 2.0 DOCH engine. I found a file that list all interference engines and timing belt requirements. The Mazda 2.0 L is listed as a interfrence engine with a timing belt change listed at 105,000. I just changed my timing belt at 121,000. File that list engine can be found if you google (power grip interference engine)
Yes. Your engine DOES have an interference engine. I think all Hondas do (or at least all the ones I have looked up!). You can go to www.napaonline.com to search for this, or on any other vehicle, as you view the timing components parts. If it shows a timing belt instead of a timing chain, it will also list whether it is an interference engine, or a NON-interference engine.
http://www.gates.com/shared/brochure.cfm?brochure=109 This site has a list of many car makers including hondas with list of recommended belt changes. If your model year has a small asterisk after it, then it is an interference engine. It also has graphic displays so you can see what the difference between interference and non-interference is.
You fail to list model and year. I see no Dodge 2.7 L engine that even has a cam belt.
the zx2 is a non-interference but most manuals list it the other way for some dumb reason
I believe that it is, I checked a couple of suppliers to double check, and all they list is an interference engine. Looks like you'll be pulling the head and replacing valves if the belt went
Yes it does. (check the GM section of this list) http://www.aa1car.com/library/timing_belts_interference_engines.htm
If the engine is a non-interference type then the answer is NO. See the list below:
It depends on the engine. According to the list on the site below, 2.2L does and 2.5L doesn't. http://ronananian.com/pages/timing%20belt%20replacement%20guide.pdf I would like to know myself if the 2.2L is indeed an interference design...
