The 1998 Taurus 3.0 has four o2 sensors. There is one in each exhaust manifold, one in the exhaust just in front of the catalytic converter, and one behind the converter.
1996 and later gasoline engines are equipped with pre and post catalyst O2 sensors. The sensors are located in the exhaust mainfold one before the catalytic converter and one after.
All O2 sensors are located in the exhaust system at various points.
YES
The o2 sensors should be located on the exhaust pipe 1 directly under the front of the motor the other is under the back. The back one is right by the y in the pipe.
there are 2
Hi, I have a 96 ford contour.. they all seem to have emission issues dont they? On mine, I just replaced the 2 it has. They are called upstream and downstream o2 sensors. I liked the prices from rockauto.com where they were shipped from.
The are all types of O2 sensors. The front two are the O2 sensors used for fuel control for each bank, and the rear two are O2 sensors that are used to moniter catalytic converter functions on their respective banks.
All of what sensors? There are dozens of different sensors in cars: O2 sensors, oil pressure/temperature, coolant temperature, fuel pressure, and so forth. All are different, and each car typically uses sensors that are different from sensors in other cars.
Theres four o2 sensors in this particular bmw. Two before and two after the cat converters.
Unplug them and put a wrench on them and screw them out.
The engine will not run properly with out a functioning catalytic converter and working O2 sensors.
