There are 2 levels of licensure for MSWs in NYS. LMSW (Licensed Master of Social Work) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I believe CSWs were grandfathered in as LMSWs when the law changed in 2004. The NYS office of the professions oversees Social work licensing. You can get more info there.
