It depends. Some communities have mailboxes in which you take mail out of whatever mailbox you are possesing, and everybodys mailbox is right there. Others have their own mailbox sitting in front of their home. But i think the idea of delivering mail straight to the house just doesn't happen anymore, like, the milkman. So, the answer is partially neither.
Gale
Tootie's last name is unknown. The mailbox outside their house just reads "Vicky's House".
I believe you're talking about the movie "The Lake House." It stars Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. They meet each other at one point, and I can't remember how it happened, but they were living in different years after that. They kept contact with each other through a mailbox. The mailbox belonged to nobody, so when one would put a letter in there, it would remain there until they opened it. I liked the movie, but it is an odd one and some people didn't enjoy it. :)
As quoted from the USPS website: "You should install the mailbox with the bottom of the box at a vertical height of between 41-45 inches from the road surface."Your house number should be clearly marked on the mailbox with painted numbers or stickers no less than 1" high. The numbers should be placed on the side of the box visible to the carrier's regular approach. The mailbox may also have the owner's name. The box should be on the right-hand side of the road as traveled by the mail carrier. It should be located approximately 2' from the side of the road to ensure the carrier can get off the road enough to clear traffic.
Yes....he ended up at Laura's place, looking down at her as she was doing her art work, then she looking up at him as if knowing he was going to be with her. Then he turned and walked past her mailbox as if to be on his way to her house. He was "in love" with Laura!
Put it back in the mailbox and send it.
If the mailbox is mounted on the house he must have a clear path to the mailbox. If you are mounting your mailbox on a rural road, mount it so the bottom of the mailbox is 47 inches from the surface of the road. Mount the mailbox far enough off the side of the road where it won't get hit. 12" is a good figure to use. Remember that school buses and trucks have mirrors that stick out on the right side that could hit your mailbox. If your mailbox is on a street with a curb, mount the mailbox so the bottom of the mailbox is 47" from the street. Mount the front of the mailbox 9" from the curb.
Yea Miley Cyrus has a mailbox. Who in the world don't have mailbox?
The main qualification you need to have a residential mailbox is a residence. You can't get a mailbox unless you have a house or apartment, with an address so that you can get mail.
