I believe you're talking about the movie "The Lake House." It stars Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. They meet each other at one point, and I can't remember how it happened, but they were living in different years after that. They kept contact with each other through a mailbox. The mailbox belonged to nobody, so when one would put a letter in there, it would remain there until they opened it. I liked the movie, but it is an odd one and some people didn't enjoy it. :)
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock play Alex Wyler and Kate Forster, respectively an architect living in 2004 and a doctor living in 2006. The two meet via letters left in a mailbox at the lake house they have both lived in at separate points in time; they carry on correspondence over two years, remaining separated by their original difference of two years. For Alex the time goes from 2004 to 2006. For Kate the time goes from 2006 to 2008.

queue [take away "ueue" and you still have "q"] Here's ANOTHER approach to the same question. ANSWER: Mailbox Regardless of how many "letters" you take away, it's still pronouced MAILBOX.
Get an address, buy a stamp and envelope, place letter in envelope, lick stamp, place stamp in top right corner of envelope, address written in the middle, return address top left corner. Then put it in the mailbox, preferrably with flag up.
In the US, when the flag is up it means there is outgoing mail in the mailbox to be picked up by the letter carrier. This alerts the letter carrier to stop at the mailbox even if s/he has no incoming mail to leave for the addressee. When you get ready to mail a letter, leave it in the mailbox and raise the flag. When the letter carrier arrives s/he will take the mail you left in the mailbox, leave any mail s/he might have for you and lower the flag. The flag can also serve as an indication the letter carrier has come and left mail, but it's generally thought inconsiderate to use it for that purpose alone because if the letter carrier has no mail for you it forces him or her to make an unnecessary stop.
Yes, Tom Hanks stars in the film Elvis Has Left the Building. He plays the role of Mailbox Elvis.
