Your buttocks contain several muscles. The bigeest one is the gluteus maximus. Then there are the associated ones; gluteus medius and gluteus maximus. In addition, there are six other smaller muscles that are referred to as the hip rotators. Thes include: quadratus femoris, piriformis, obturator internus and externus, and the gemellus superior and inferior.
