Well, if you got to a salon then you will end up paying like $100-$150 but you end up with something that will last longer, feel good AND look waay better than what you would do yourself (no offense). But if you do it yourself you will get a half as good mani/pedi and save alot of money!
I usually just do it myself and sometimes I go to the salon!!
Hope that helps!!
Seeing as how nail salons are kind of in a bad state right now (check out the news about the danger of public foot spas), consider the new miracle product on the market---the PegEgg. Save money over the course of a lifetime. I had to get one when I started taking ballet. I was getting athlete's foot and whatnot.
AVOID cheap nail salons like the plague. 'Cause that's what you'll catch if you go in there! The lack of money inspires them to cut corners by reusing instruments (disposable instruments) without cleaning them or sanatizing the place.
Don't fret, pet. There are many resources to make you beautiful. But be careful... Good luck.

Everyone loves the way their nails look after a professional manicure. However, not everyone has the time or money to get their nails manicured every week at a salon. If you want your nails to look neat, clean and and pretty, consider investing in a high end manicure set for home maintenance. Go to a salon once in a while to maintain your shape, but keep a manicure set at home to give nails a quick buff or trim in between salon visits. Considering how much a profesional manicure costs, you could recoup your investment in a month or less.
