Marcian Hoff was one of the computer scientists who developed the microprocessor in the early 1970s. Having a 'universal processor' was an important development in computer science.
no, his invention was the 4004. many newer inventions have long superseded it, but it was the breakthrough that made the later inventions possible. Very much like the Fairchild invention of the planar transistor was the breakthrough that made monolithic ICs possible, but ICs aren't just lots of planar transistors, they have other components as well as wiring on the one chip.
Marcian Hoff is credited with inventing the microprocessor, a pivotal development in computing that significantly transformed computer architecture. Introduced in 1971 with the Intel 4004, the microprocessor integrated the functions of a computer's central processing unit (CPU) onto a single chip. This innovation led to smaller, more efficient, and affordable computers, paving the way for the personal computer revolution and the modern computing era we know today. Hoff's work laid the foundation for the continued advancement of technology in countless applications.
hi bye i hate yo! Marcian Hoff was one of the inventors for the microprocessor. The microprocessor is like the engine for the computer. When you turn on the computer the microprocessor helps the computer start.
He help invent the Intel 4004, the world first microprocessor
Dr. Marcian Hoff Jr. is one of the inventors of the microprocessor. He was born October 28, 1937 in Rochester, New York. Not all that much. He just got frustrated thinking that the customer's (Busicom) calculator chipset logic that Intel had assigned him to implement in silicon was over 10 times as complex as the logic in the DEC PDP-8 across the room. All their chipset could do was desk calculator functions while the PDP-8 could do 1000s times more!!!He suggested the customer's design be discarded and that he design a computer chipset (instead of a dedicated calculator chipset). That took some convincing at both Intel and Busicom - the result being the 4004 microprocessor.

there are no real inventors of 4th generation computers, but it started with the invention of the microprocessors made by intel, which made computing at home possible, along with IBM...
