Curium.
Marie Curie made her discovery of the element radium in 1898.
Marie and Pierre Curie did not discover the atom. John Dalton is credited with the discovery of the atom and J.J. Thomson with the discovery of the electron.
Henri Becquerel was a French scientist who was credited for the discovery of radioactivity. He was credited in 1896.
Mr. Curie
26 December, in collaboration with Gustave Bémont, they announced the discovery of radium.
Marie Curie
discovery of the elements Radium and Poloniumstudying the decay chains from the radioactive element Uranium down to the stable element Lead
In July 1898 Pierre and Marie Currie published a paper revealing their discovery of "polonium", In December 1898 announced a second new element, "radium"
Henri Becquerel, Marie Curie, and Pierre Curie were important in the discovery of radiation. Henri Becquerel discovered radioactivity in 1896, while Marie Curie and Pierre Curie furthered research on radioactivity and isolated the elements polonium and radium.
Bequerel was the first to note radioactivity, in 1896. Curie discovered radium in 1898, after experiments with uranium and then pitchblende.
Radium was first discovered in 1898 by Marie Skłodowska-Curie and her husband Pierre Curie, and Gustave Bémont, living and researching in Paris, France.Radium was discovered in pitchblende coming from North Bohemia, in the Czech Republic.
MMe Marie Curie is credited with two Nobel Prizes and the discovery of Radium and Polonium, the latter named after her native Poland- she was a naturalized French citizen. Some other Female scientist discovered an element in tne thirities but the name escapes me. It might have been Francium ( the element).
