No. Mass is the property of subatomic particles that make them respond to gravitational force. Physics texts or Wikipedia may have a better definition. Particles with mass "hold" momentum and energy.

Mass is generally considered equivalent to amount because the stuff we want to know the amount of generally has mass. However, certain particles like photons (light) are not known to have mass.
