Full wave rectifiers consist of two (for a center-tapped transformer) or four (for a single-ended transformer) diodes connected such that as the polarity of the AC input changes, the diodes steer the current flow so the output polarity does not change. The output of a FW rectifier is pulsating DC, which is normally then filtered or smoothed with a capacitor.

Is a transformer used in full wave rectifier?

A full wave rectifier is a component or set of components that change AC waveforms into DC. It is frequently used as part of a power supply circuit and therefore it is often directly adjacent to a transformer. However, a transformer is used to provide a suitable AC voltage and is not part of the rectifier.

Why are the materials used in constructing a building should be in standard?

To ensure that the building does not fall down.

The Egyptian pyramids are built of limestone blocks.

How many diodes are used to make a half wave rectifier?

You use a half-wave rectifier where the system design does not require a full-wave approach. Half wave rectifier output is used for running ac motors.

Rectifiers used for most larger alternator systems are which ones?

a full-wave bridge rectifier

What is the effect of inductive load on a single phase full wave bridge rectifier?

rectifier is used to resist the current likewise in bridge wave rectifier ,the inductive load is used to resist high amount of current because in bridge wave we cannot resist the current by using rectifier ..so we are using inductive load here

Where is a full wave brigde rectifier used?

Typically to convert AC to DC as part of a power supply.

Where you can use full wave rectifier?

Basically , rectifier is used to convert a.c into d.c . The bridge rectifier is used in all power supply section of all device which are operated on D.C supplly. For example in TV the circuit board is operated at 12 V D.C. so we need dc supply which is provided by rectifier. All SMPS ( Switched Mode Power Supplies) uses Bridge rectifier.

Can diode be used as rectifier?

yes ofcourse diode can be used as rectifier but it's an uncontrolled rectification.
