The song is about the singer's relationship with a person that helps him back after being a mess or hitting rock bottom because of his own bad choices in life. Based on the band's personal beliefs, it is likely about being brought back to (and made to feel more alive) by God, not a girl. It is a wonderful song however you choose to interpret it.
