If your heating is on but your radiator isn't getting hot, it is most likely blocked. This could be due to air bubbles trapper in the radiator, in which case you will have to 'bleed' it'. If you open up the control and the shield valves, that can help to remove a blockage . Otherwise, you will have to get it taken apart and the blockage cleared by a qaulified professional.

follow your top radiator hose from the radiator back down to the block. should be on left side of engine (as you are facing it) where top radiator hose goes into the block.

Look on top of the radiator and follow the hose from the radiator to the thermostat housing. Look on the bottom of the radiator and follow the hose up to bottom of the block.
drain coolant from radiator, remove one of the frost plugs in engine block, install block heater in place of frost plug, refill radiator with coolant.
