Sorry, this is not an answer. Exactly the same thing is happening to my L200. Don't suppose you had any joy??
Thanks
Hi I had a similar problem but mine would refuse to change out of 4wd into 2wd as well. first make sure the 4wd /2wd selector lever is in position properly. if it is not completely set right the light will either start flashing or if having just changed from 4wd to 2wd it will not stop flashing. Also I found after a short while it completely refused to change at all and would remain in 4wd with the 2wd warning light flashing. this was traced to a tiny hole in the vacuum pipe joining the solenoid and was stopping the solenoid from actuating and switching from 4wd to 2wd. Changing the pipe was cheap and fixed the problem.
hope this helps
Joe
Weather can occur without any warning; a traffic accident can happen without any warning; you could drop dead from a heart attack without any warning, etc.
There are no symptoms. The belt will just break without warning. You must replace the belt every 60,000 miles. Warning: This is an interference engine so if the belt breaks you will have serious engine damage.

It's basically the smartlock function. it basically immobilises your car so without the key, you can't start the car. Also I believe it has something to do with central locking.
