I replaced Transmission Fluid yesterday on2003 Montero Sport today when I'm driving the A/T Temp light came on what is that mean/
The parking brake light stay lit on the 1999 Mitsubishi Montero sport the parking brake is working and you have not put the light off.
Its for slippery weather starts,.. it holds the transmission in 2nd gear for a less forcefull excelleration from a stop, less chance for spinning.
A bad A/T Control Relay switch may be the reason your light is blinking on the N of the shift gear in your Mitsubishi Montero Sport. The part will need to be ordered from the dealership to fix it.
Why does four wheel drive light flash?
You have to take off the fender well.
about 7 feet.
The Montero Sport's tailgate dome light doubles as the switch. The entire clear plastic cover slides left to right and has three positions. ON-DOOR-OFF
check the fuse box under the hood in the engine compartment
My 2000 has it too. Haven't tried it to see if a 'hold' light lights up, but the owner's manual also says something about this light. It's called an A/T mode change switch. In the book, they only repeated the info about the light. http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t3671-rvr-a-t-switch.htm I have a 2001 Mits Montero Sport, and I have found that when you are climbing a grade, your 'automatic transmission' will automatically downshift when pressing the accelerator to the floor. If you don't want it to shift on it's own, use the A/T button to hold your transmission in the gear you want it. A hold light will illuminate on your dashboard underneath the speedometer if the A/T light has been depressed. Hope this helps!
Look at the upper end of the brake pedal under dash area
