Check the tensioner pulley the bearings mak be going bad but only make noise at high rpms, at any rate it sounds like something that is driven by a belt does not want to spin as fast as the engine.
0 - 60mph is 5.7 sec (top gear test) Mitsubishi gto 3000 Top Gear tested a VR4... Which was 5.7.. 0-60 in a non-VR4 Mitsubishi 3000gt from 1991-93 is approx. 7.5-8 seconds.

No, a 60 mph zone means you must drive at a safe speed for the prevailing road conditions and not exceed 60mph.
It will take 2 minutes 30 seconds to cover 13,200 feet at 60mph
One mile at 60mph would take just one minute.
In most modern cars the engine turns at 1500-2500 rpm at highway speeds. Since 60mph is a mile a minute, about 1500-2500 times.
