The Crazy Mountains lie north of the Yellowstone River and south of theMussellshell River. In addition the Shields River flows west then south off of the west slope of the "Crazies" and Sweetgrass Creek and Big Timber Creek flow to the east and then south from the east slopes of the "Crazies" in addition Cottonwood Creek, Big Elk Creek, Lebo Creek and The American Fork Creek flow off the noth and east slopes of the "Crazies".
