Untrue , "most expensive designer" is too vague of a question.There are many fashion designers that retail off the rack ready made , jeans , shirts , jackets etc that are equal to the price of the VERSACE brand or far more expensive . What you must remember , is that if you had $200 million disposable income a year , you would have your designer of choice TAILOR MAKE your desired garment , if that seems expensive , in the realm of the ultra rich , you would conference with your designer of choice , work in collusion with him or her on fabric , colour , style ,accessory etc ...So then an average Oscar de la Renta jacket for men costs $250 , tailor made $600-$800 , you choose the material , extra pocket , smaller collars for example with either Oscar at his design studio or 1 of his agents in a face to face discussion , possibly you showing them your wardrobe , your likes, dislikes , the jacket that Oscar de la Renta would then create for you , would cost from $2000-$3000 or even more ! Say if like you wanted ruby diamond studded buttons , or unique gold clasping etc

Designers are not the only 1s who offer such a service , Nike , Puma , Adidas , Levis , Wrangler , Kangol , Ted Baker , Bench etc , if you have the money , all these companies will make you an entire collection , unique to your tastes , or a joint collaboration , or you just commission them . Tailored made Nike trainers can cost upto $1000 , now who would know if you were to see them on the street , they'd just look like any other Nike trainer , we are familiar with designers like Versace ,Armani , being expensive , and to an extent they trade off that expectation , but in reality its uniqueness , rarity , that is the quality that is THE MOST EXPENSIVE .Versace sell 100,000s of jeans every year , T-shirts , etc You would think with that much common exposure it would have lost its elite status , but it thrives on that which so many designers thrive on , an exclusivity that is only offered by the seasons , CHANGING FASHION !

If you think that you own the VERSACE jeans that cost you $200 in winter 2009 , which were manufactured in Italy in there 1000s , and sold in AbuDubai , Delhi , Johannesburg , Peking , etc well you dont own the VERSACE jeans from the spring 2010 collection !!!, its a constant selling of exclusivity , in following fashion & being fashionable , your aspiring to exclusivity ...And that co$t$ mOn£y !
