Probably Michael Jackson overall. Then Jesus. But by country it all depends. In America it could be Abraham Lincoln while in France it could be Napoleon. Overall out of the entire world, I'd have to say Jackson though.

I'd say William Shakespeare. His plays are performed and read all over the world in basically every language. Everyone knows who Shakespeare is, Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, etc. Even if people haven't read them they will have heard of them and know Shakespeare wrote them. His art has been so prevalent all over the world for a long time, and will always be. His plays are going to be read and performed until the end of the world, so every generation forever will know him. So much of our writing comes from him, there are so many allusions to him in writing and in society that we don't even recognize.
