It must be remembered that people go to hell by their own choice. God is thus giving them what they want. They do not wish to spend eternity with Him. So, since God has left Himself abundant witness first in the the creation itself, in the visible remnants of the worldwide judgment of the flood and particularly in Jesus Christ, people are as The Bible says, 'without excuse.'
In all this it could also therefore be said that God is not crazy but it is people who give every evidence of being so for being 'willfully ignorant' of the evidence and for turning away from their maker and the great suffering He went through to save them.
