Nothing is required beyond the court order. Did he say why he needed the money? If you're concerned it's going to the mother, tell him you will send it to him when he returns to school. He may still give it to his mother, but outside her direct influence, he may spend it instead. Is the child support going directly to him, and have you filed a motion that the mother also pay her part to him? See links

May I quit paying support in Alabama if my children have reached the age of majority and no bailss was filed prior to their nineteenth birthday?

In Alabama, you are required to pay child support until a child reaches the age of majority, which is 19; however, a parent may be required to pay for such things as college expenses past the age of majority if these college expenses were requested prior to reaching the age of majority. If no such request was made, you are only required to pay child support until your children reach the age of 19.

In New Jersey family law does a father who is divorced from the mother be required to pay for college and child support?

In most cases, the non-custodial parent has to pay half or more of the college expenses, unless it was stated in the divorce decree that college would not be paid for. I know, because I am the custodial parent and my ex was ordered to pay 65% of college expenses in addition to child support. Lucky for him, though, we qualified for financial-aid for college and all he had to pay was child support. (Which he tried to get out of many times)It's more like the opposite - the non-custodial parent is under no obligation to pay for college unless the order for support specifically provides for it.

Can a mother amancipate a 19 year old and not pay expenses for them anymore such as college?

In most jurisdictions, a parent is not required to support an adult child. There may be special circumstances, such as child support orders, that need to be considered as well.
