I see the Philippines as a more developed and technologically advanced country, with a stronger economy and improved infrastructure. I also envision a greater focus on sustainability and environmental conservation in the years to come.
The Holy See has never invaded the Philippines. The Spanish Empire controlled the Philippines for several centuries and with it's control came establishment of the Roman Catholic Church as the official religion. That gave the Holy See (or Vatican) a degree of authority and power there.
