There are many words to describe a process like this.
The last stage is most commonly called manufacturing.
The earlier stages are generically called processing, but these almost always consist of a number of sub-stages.
For instance :-
- A tree is cut down and the branches and bark removed. It is "Logged"
- The log is moved to the nearest road a truck can get up. It is "Forwarded"
- The log is taken to a sawmill. It is "Transported"
- The log is sawn into beams and planks, and possibly planed smooth. It is "Milled."
- A chair is made from the lumber. It is "Manufactured."
