There's a servo motor on the right side of the steering column (just below the bottom of the dash) that releases a cable when you push down on the brake. If it's working properly it will disengage the cable when you press on the brake in park and suck the cable back in when you release the brake. Mine burned out, so I unplugged the cable to the motor, pulled the cable loose and now I can always shift out of park -- even if my foot isn't on the brake. No big deal!
check the fuses.
How do I change the head gasket on a 1995 Park Avenue. and what are the specs.
take apart the dash, and reset it to park when the car is in park.
Maybe an out of adjustment park-neutral-switch. Ttry shifting to low, then back to drive. Lots of info at rv.net, do a search on autopark. Good luck!!
Sounds like a torque converter lock up solenoid.
park,reverse,neutral,drive,low2,and low1
* cause it needs to be put in drive to go forward
change the bulb
check the fluid level
it is a 1995 Chevy blazer and it will not go into park. have to use the emergency brake when stopped, and neutral to start it
Save the effort and park by a wall
check your coil pack - mine had the same issue before.
