had a freind his truck did the same thing and come to find out they gave him a wrong part. i cant remember if it was suppose to be a four groove and the gave him a five belt. or it was a tensioner he had to switch the pulley off the old to the new
Had that same problem on my 93 the tensioner wore out. had to have it replaced.
I had this problem with my 1992 Buick Roadmaster. I noticed one day my power steering pump was not using bolts to secure it anymore. Is was simply 'floating' in the mounting bracket. So I reinstalled the bolts needed. At that point, it started shredding the serpantine belts. After several belts, and many attempts to realign it, I loosened all the bolts again and started the engine up. As soon as I verified no shredding was taking place, I marked the position of the hardware, shut it off, and secured it as marked. Part of the problem was the bracket to the left side of the engine block (5.7L) that had to be removed to allow realignment. I just replaced the engine with another 5,7L. Belt is shredding again. Is it illegal to 'discharge' a firearm in the city limits to kill an automobile?
Depends on the vehicle and which bearings. Wheel bearings, not so expensive. Main bearings inside the engine, expensive.
It is normal for the tensioner to shake. That is why it is spring loaded. If you have the a/c on,it will shake worse. But it is normal.
Did you look at the alternator bearings?Take the belt off and spin the alteranator to see if the bearings are bad.
If you have replaced all this it may not be a belt. It may be your alternator itself. These have bearings inside them and they do wear out. The only way to check is to remove the belt and spin the alternator to see if that is what is noisy. It may wobble if the bearings are bad. It should turn smoothly if not.
One of the components driven by the belt or the tensioner has bearings that are going bad or the unit itself like alternator, power steering pump, or water pump are going bad. If it has a manual tensioner it is possible that it was overtightened as well.
you dont, it has a hydraulic tensioner. if it needs to be adjusted then it needs to be replaced
t guess is either the valves or the crank bearings are getting wore.
Check for proper bearing clearance. It is easy to get the wrong size bearings.
The hub bearings in a 1998 Z71 can not be repacked. The bearings are part of the hub, and the hub assembly will have to be replaced.
Its not your bearings you idiot its your brakes. Take it in and have them replaced.
