The 1/8th inch jack connector in a television supplies a line level output suitable to drive headphones or an input to an amplifier. The level won't drive speakers without an additional amplifier so it should not be connected to speaker connections. If an amplifier is available, use a lead with a 1/8th inch jack to RCA connectors and feed the signal to the amplifier. Then take the speaker outputs from the amplifier into the wall connectors that run to the speakers.
