Just get it fixed. It usually costs around 25 dollars to get it fixed.
hold the middle button and menu button till the iPod apple comes up, then it will reset.
hold down the menu button and the middle.
press and hold the middle button and the menu button, at the same time, for +-10seconds, this will re-boot your ipod.

To fix a frozen ipod nano hold the "MENU" and CENTRE button. Hold for 5 seconds then release. Your ipod nano will go to the apple symbol then turn back to normal.
it should work...if not its broken. return it for extended warrinty.

If you have the regular click wheel iPod, then all you have to do is hold down the men u button and the center, or select button. If you have an iPod touch, you hold down the circle button that takes you back to the main menu screen, and the small rectangular button on the top!! I hope this helps you!
Press menu and the middle button until a apple logo appears on the screen and then release. It may take a few seconds to go to main menu but it works.
If its a nano you hold the menu button and center button which will reset your ipod but keep your music,games etc
