First, if possible, you should speak with a social worker at the hospital or rehab where she is admitted. IF your mother is legally capable of executing a Power of Attorney it should be done by a professional. If she is not a patient you may need to have an attorney make a home visit to guide the process so that the POA will not be vulnerable to challenge later by other family members. A person can sign with an "X" in most jurisdictions as long as there are third-party witnesses present who sign as witnesses.

If a POA cannot be executed then you will need to petition the court to be appointed her guardian.

How do I write a power of attorney document from the heirs of a deceased mother?

To write a power of attorney document, you'll need to follow these steps: Start by identifying yourself as the principal and state that you are of sound mind and voluntarily granting power of attorney. Clearly state the names and details of the person(s) being granted power of attorney, specifying the heirs of the deceased mother. Outline the powers and responsibilities granted, such as managing financial affairs, making healthcare decisions, or selling property. Include a clause specifying when the power of attorney will take effect and any limitations or conditions that apply. Sign the document in the presence of a notary public, and have the appointed individuals sign as well. Provide copies of the document to all parties involved, and consider consulting an attorney for guidance to ensure it complies with local regulations and meets your specific needs.

What is the correct spelling for plural of power-of-attorney?

Recast the sentence, or risk losing clarity. Instead of "They took their power(s) of attorney(s) to the hospital," write "They each brought their power of attorney to the hospital" or "They took copies of their power of attorney to the hospital." Same problem arises with, for example, the title "Book of Mormon" and "Power of Love" You'd have to say "copies of the Book of Mormon" or "versions of Power of Love" to preserve your meaniing.

If a person write a letter saying they give you power of attorney is it power of attorney?
