Make sure they are drinking plenty. Also, make sure they're ingesting plenty of fibre in their diet; fruit, veg, oatmeal, digestive biscuits, wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta etc... On yogurts, soups and oatmeal, you can also sprinkle a teaspoon of flaxseeds or linseeds, which add plenty of fibre. (Flaxseeds and linseeds both need to be eaten with plenty of liquids, to prevent abdominal pain or an obstruction in the colon (which rare and you'd have to eat a lot of flax/linseeds for this to be a problem)).

∙ 14y agoSee your pediatrician for help with this matter. Do not delay. If he never lets the bowel movement out he will get block up and could start vomiting. I have known boys to do this, even at the age of 10.
