My tooth itself above the gum doesn't hurt but under the gum where my tooth meets the gum it hurts This has been going on for a day or two is it a cavity?

most likely it is a cavity but u might just have an infection try to take maybe a toothpick and clean it out either like that or spray water at it

I had a very deep cavity that I had filled and had mistakenly taken quite a bit of Vitamin C before the procedure. Vitamin C will prevent Novocaine from working. It was very painful, but at my threshold. On the other hand, Novocaine is pretty shocking to the body and to the immune system itself. If you're thinking of forgoing it for health reasons, and the cavity is small, it might be worth it to give it a try. You can always ask for Novocaine halfway through if you need it.
