If they broke up and it ended badly it would ruin that song for the singer. There aren't that many really popular songs with girl's names in it if you're just starting out in a band. If the girl doesn't want to be a part of the song she could be mad at the singer as well/If they broke up and he continued to sing the song she could take legal action to remove her name from it.
