Since pressure is defined as force acting perpendicularly on a surface, P := d(F n)/ds (where n is the versor perpendicular to the element of surface ds), its unit is N/m2, also known as pascal: 1 Pa = 1 N / 1 m2
N/m^2 (N:Newton (unit of Force) that named Pascal is unit of pressure.

1Pa means that 1N load(force) as normally affect on 1 m^2 area.

other unit is bar , mmHg. atmosphere,......

dyne/cm cube MORE INFO: the previous answer is incorrect. It should have been:- dyne/ square cm. It is more COMMONLY measured in Pascal or KiloPascal (KPa) The pressure in a car tyre is usually measured in KPa. (CGS system) In some industries it is measured in Newton per square metre (N/m2) NOTE: the number 2 after the m should be up above the m, meaning 'squared', but my keyboard will not allow me to put the 2 where I wanted to . Hope you understand what I mean.

CGS has been replaced by SI in which the Pa is the standard unit, though the Bar (standard atmospheric pressure = 100kPa) is permissible for "ordinary" uses. In fact the EU's Pressure Equipment Regulations, in UK law at least, use the Bar to avoid unwieldy numbers.

That lack of superscript is annoying isn't it! A simple way round it is to type ^2 for the square symbol, as in N/m^2.

The unit used in most of the world for air pressure is the hectoPascal (hPa), numerically the same as (and replacing) millibars. This unit is not used especially frequently outside the world of meteorology, although the base unit, the Pascal, is.
