" Believe in " is the operative word here. People let there feelings and beliefs get in the way of accepting the evidence for evolution. Some have been heavily indoctrinated into either or positions. Either evolution is false or my beliefs are false. When you are given over to belief without evidence then many hang tenaciously onto those beliefs and put themselves on the wrong side of a false dichotomy.
