GLADE
There isn't a street called Elephant and Castle in London but there is a small but important area by that name with an underground station named after it. The area originally got its name from a 'pub' which was situated there but now long gone. The present area is mainly a large road intersection with the convergence of different routes approaching central London from the south and southeast of London and lies about 1 mile south of the 'City of London'. Although its proper name is Elephant and Castle, Londoners abbreviate the area's name to 'The Elephant'.
In London
The castle is officially named Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, but it is commonly known as The Tower of London. It is located on the north bank of the River Thames in London. The castle was first built in 1078, and it now has over two million visitors per year.
