Spine or the individual bones that make it up are called Vertebrae (singular: vertebra).
An osteopath - manipulation of the muscles and bones could restore or preserve health. A chiropractor manipulates the spine, as does a physiotherapist
Cervical vertebrae may also be called neck bones.

Your "backbone" is actually a series of bones; the technical name is "spinal column", and it's a stack of bones called "vertebrae" connected by cartilage and muscles that allow it to bend and twist. At the bottom of the spine, the vertibrae connect to the pelvis, or "hip bones", which then connect to the thigh, the upper leg bones. The lowermost bone in the spine is the coccyx, or tailbone. If we had tails, that's where they would be connected.
It has many improper terms that many people use today, such as; back, neck, cord, etc. In learning about the bones of the body, scientists and teachers recall the spine as the vertebra (vertebrae for plural).
The common name for the costa bone is the rib cage. These are the curved arches of the bones that extend from the spine toward the sternum.
