Hypothalamus
Brain
Every neuron that is not part of the central nervous system (CNS) can be considered part of the peripheral nervous system (PNS). The PNS includes all the nerves and ganglia outside the brain and spinal cord, connecting the CNS to limbs and organs. It plays a crucial role in transmitting sensory information to the CNS and carrying motor commands from the CNS to the body.
medulla
The CNS
Afferent neurons receive and transmit impulses to the CNS.
In medical terms, CNS stands for central nervous system. This is the part of the nervous system that includes the brain and spinal cord.
Oligodendrocyte
The parts of the CNS that give rise to sympathetic nerves are the thoracic and lumbar regions of the spinal cord.
The usual name for a bundle of nerve processes within the CNS is "tract" or "fasciculus"
