Maharaja Ranjit singh
The fist ruler of the Sikh empire was Maharaja Ranjit Singh and the last , Duleep Singh before the British Empire annexed Punjab.
Maharaja Ranjit Singh is known as Sher-e-Punjab. He united Punjab and extended Sikh rule to areas which now consists of Both punjabs of India and Pakistan, Kashmir,haryana, Himachal,some parts of NWFP of Pakistan(including peshawar)...........and Tibet(for brief time) His capital was Lahore.
Maharani Jindan Kaur was the last queen of the Sikh Empire and the wife of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Born in 1817, she played a significant role in the politics of Punjab following her husband's death in 1839. After the British annexation of Punjab, she became a symbol of resistance against colonial rule and was involved in various political intrigues. Baba Banda Singh Bahadur's father was Gurdit Singh. He was a farmer in the region of present-day Punjab, India. Banda Singh Bahadur later became a prominent Sikh military leader and a significant figure in the Sikh history, known for his role in the struggle against Mughal rule.

Ala Singh was antecedent of the family blessed by sixth Sikh guru Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib. patiala remained under the supremacy of maharaja Ranjeet Singh during his rule who was having a vast kingdom constituting present Pakistan,part of Afghanistan, rajasthan, Punjab, j& k upto delhi as Sikh empire.
