Well, in the U.S., the Naruto anime on cartoonnetwork was beginning to pass the rate at which the manga was being released in bookstores and other places. So they showed different filler episodes that didn't have too much to do with the main plot of the series so they could have more time to release the manga. It makes sense because if the anime came out on television first, it would leave a lot of people uninterested in the manga when it was released.

∙ 14y agoThere are 85 filler episodes, and you can find them on most video hosting sites. uhm, he asked why, not how many and its simple to answer why, *clears troat*. to give manga time to get farther from the anime!, cause if the anime catches up, there wont be a topic from the manga to do the anime episode of, cause, 1 anime episode is like 2-4 episodes of manga

During the large amount of filler episodes place in the Naruto series, Hinata had several episodes where Naruto notices that she is "amazing." However, by the next episode that she appears in, Naruto has completely forgotten that Hinata even knows how to fight. So, no. Naruto doesn't seem to be able to remember Hinata at all. It would be interesting if the manga changed that, but I don't believe it will happen.
