The key code for a Nissan 300zx is located on the inside of the passenger side dash drawer. It is a little sticker glued on with the number, usually an "x" followed by 4 numbers. Write it down and keep it in a safe place, as the glue cracks off with age, and the sticker may get lost.
Take the gas cap off and turn the key a second or so.

Any Nissan dealership can tell you Not true. Nissan dealers can get a key code from the VIN# for vehicles from about mid 95 onwards, but only if the original selling dealer put the code on file with Nissan. Some older Nissan's had a small white tag in the glove box with the key code on it. Many of todays cars are sold with a small tag attached to the keys with the code, this was to be held on to by the customer in case of accidental loss. i just need to find were the code is so i can reset it
